Stuck in a web?

Do you feel you’re stuck in a web, sealed in a silo, lost in a tube or some social bubble that keeps you away from others?  Does you community discourage true collaboration with similar agencies or service providers?  Are there other dynamics or barriers that prevent you from getting to know your neighbors?

I almost missed out on an amazing opportunity…  I realize now that it took time and a series of meetings for me to understand that I knew very little about my professional neighbors.  I was wrong about networking and especially wrong about how much I had in common with someone I once perceived as being from the wrong side of the tracks.
